In the early 90’ a group of people involved in organizing various activities and projects with the International Center for Sailing and Water Sports started to meet on a regular basis. After couple years they decided to continue their activities in more organized fashion, by establishing a formal association. On 11th  April 1997 an application was placed in Suwałki’s court. The Mazurska Szkoła Żeglarstwa (Masurian Sailing School) was officially registered on 17th June 1997. Since then the Association is the main organizer or a co-organizer of various events (regattas, cruises, sailing courses and camps, workshops and conferences etc.) including many events dedicated to people with disabilities.  Most of these events are organized using equipment and facilities of the International Center for Sailing and Water Sports and in close cooperation with the Polish Association of Disabled Sailors.
